Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) in iureka: connect your own API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other providers — and use the full legal AI research platform with your existing provider billing.
Benefits
- No platform credits for AI calls in BYOK mode
- Direct billing via your provider account (OpenAI, Anthropic, …)
- Full model choice and cost control
- Ideal for firms and teams with existing AI contracts
What BYOK covers — and what it doesn't
BYOK applies to AI model calls (chat, agents, DOCX tools). The legal knowledge base — cases, statutes, Bundestag documents, explorer — continues through iureka regardless of BYOK mode.
Setup
- Register for free (BYOK requires an account — not available in anonymous mode)
- Settings → API keys — add your provider keys
- Enable BYOK mode — switchable between platform credits and BYOK
Help: Settings in the help center.
Who is it for?
- Law firms with own enterprise contracts with OpenAI or Anthropic
- In-house teams with internal AI governance and provider choice
- Users who want transparent costs at the provider
Combined with pricing & plans
BYOK does not replace an account — you can use BYOK on the free or Pro tier. Without BYOK, you pay for AI usage via platform credits (included or extended in free and Pro quotas).
Data protection
API keys are stored securely. For client data, the same recommendations apply as platform use: confidential files in vaults, not in anonymous test mode. More: GDPR-oriented AI legal research.
